She picked me........

Someone I love more than life itself told me I need a blogging break and she’s right.  While you may indeed be reading my blog today (thank you for that by the way)….let it be known this required no earth-shattering talent or thinking….just a few words cuz I’m not Superwoman today.  Today I’m just me….and me requires a writing and life break of sorts.  Never fear - I'm still out here farting gumdrops.

Speaking of writing...yesterday blogger said I'd done 300 posts....wow....pretty cool.

Let me leave you with this….80 days left folks….before 2011. Are you on track to finish the year strong? I have kept up with working out every other day and my food intake is going very well. Eye on the prize – which is goal by end of year. Are you still with me?

And now this. Watermelon (soon to be 10 year old) – told me the teacher told the class to write about either their mom or dad. Anything they wanted. Whichever parent.

Watermelon picked me.

She picked me.

And this is what she wrote…and I’m sharing it with you….because it made my day. There was no direction on what to write or how to write it (or how to end it as you’ll see)….it was just to write. She mentions chocolate so for me – she hit this one out of the park. Enjoy!

“I looked at the woman at the computer. Her hair was as brown as chocolate and as long as taffy. Her clothes so fashionable that I want some just like them. She wears beautiful high heeled shoes as tall as my finger and taller. She stands up and shows off her more than 5 ft in height. She has accomplished many things in her life and she gets up proud of herself.”

Yah that’s it – I told you it kinda just ends….kids are so cute huh?

Your daughter sees you as a strong, confident, accomplished, glamorous woman. There's nothing better than that. So start viewing yourself that way too!

Hang on to that so you can caress it when she's a surly teenager.

I LOVE stuff like this! Makes 30 hours of labour almost worth it! :)

oh wow! That's really really cool. As a mom I pray every day that I make my kid proud of me. You have evidence now that you have done just that. Good for you!
Hopefully she'll still view you that way in a few years when all things "mom" become uncool for so many...

That is beautiful. And proof positive that you may set aside your doubts and fears about what kind of mother you are, my dear. *nods wisely*

Yepper, I am on track for a good end of year. I won't be at goal... But I will be closer.

If you are taking a break, enjoy it. And come back soon, because I would miss you terribly if you were gone for long.

Have a rainbowriffic day. :D

Your daughter has pretty good writing skills for 10. You must be so proud. Great post.

You have to love seeing things from a child's perspective! As for taking a break, you need to do what is best for you. If you do take a break, we will surly miss your blogs, as you have a way about you that touches everyone (or at least me) on such a deep level that it will be missed. As for just being you in your blog today, and not some Superwoman blogger, all we ever want is you. don't ever be someone your not! And keep getting up being proud of yourself!

That darn Watermelon!! She looks up to her mom and evidently she sees the real you. Wow, I am so proud of that girl!

Take a break Draz, you deserve it.

What a gift your daughter just gave you. Awesome.

I think it ends perfectly...She stands up proud of herself!! just think your daughter notices and probably aspires to exhibit similar pride in herself and how she projects herself. I can't think of much more I would want to instill in my daughters.

As far as the blogging goes...don't leave us ...screw what you need to do :) haha..OK if you mean for a day or so fine but if you mean for a long time...well I might have to protest. You know you can post just boring stuff to let us know you are still around and kicking.

Draz.. first that was just a beautiful thing to share.
My first impressions were WOW.. that reads like something Carrie Bradshaw would write, so descriptive so on target.. just something you want to completely soak up and smile about..

It's amazing to see yourself through the eyes of a child. And they don't lie.

oooh! That gave me chills. Watermelon is a gifted little writer just like her Mama - I can feel the love :)

That's the cutest thing ever!

Don't you stay gone too long. We need gumdrops and skittles out here in this thing called blogland.

I liked watermelon's excerpt about you. Very good descriptive words. :)

Now exactly how long is this break supposed to last? I have no problem with a break, I know I have email (although nothing replaces the blogs!), but I must know the duration. I have to psych myself up for such changes....

And all I can say is of course she picked you! And I love what she had to say! Perfect!
